How to Protect Appliances & Glassware During Furniture Moving in Bahrain
Moving electrical appliances and fragile items is the most challenging part of any move. One mistake can cost you BD 300 for a TV or BD 200 for a refrigerator. At Abu Ali Furniture, we use professional packing techniques to ensure everything arrives safely.
Packing Your TV & Screens
OLED and QLED screens are extremely pressure-sensitive. Always: wrap with 2cm+ bubble wrap, keep vertical (never horizontal), use original box or correctly sized carton, place nothing on top during transport.
Appliance Preparation Guide
Refrigerator: Switch off 8-12 hours before, empty completely, dry interior. Wrap with moving blanket. Transport vertical only.
Washing machine: Drain water, wrap hose, secure drum with original transit bolts if available. Transport vertical or on side.
Split AC: Disconnect power. If moving long distance, require a technician to safely remove refrigerant. Never tilt more than 45 degrees.
Packing Glassware & Crystal
- Wrap each piece individually in newspaper or packing paper
- Pack glasses upside down (rim-down) in vertical cartons
- Mark all sides clearly: "FRAGILE - Glass"
- Max carton weight: 8kg to prevent box collapse
